LOAVES AND FISHES

The mission of Loaves & Fishes food pantry is to provide supplemental food to the needy in Granbury and the surrounding area. A listening ear and spiritual support are offered to all. Loaves & Fishes is located in the Lakeside Outreach Center and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. In the event of bad weather, Loaves & Fishes will close based on the decision made by Granbury ISD.

COMMUNITY CARE

Community Care is our benevolence ministry through which we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in a very tangible way.  Our desire is to help those in need to find real solutions to their financial needs through utility and prescription assistance and through our partnerships with other ministries in Hood County.  Above all else, we generously pray and truly care about our neighbors, whether or not they are members of Lakeside.

Applications will be reviewed and you can expect to hear something in 5-7 business days.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Our 12-step program is based on the beatitudes.  It gives people the tools to recover from hurts, habits, and hang-ups.  Each meeting includes a free dinner, a worship gathering with testimonies and teaching, and issue-specific small groups. CLICK HERE

HEARTS FOR MISSIONS

Hearts for Missions is a ladies prayer support ministry that meets every 3rd Wednesday, September thru May. Our purpose is to PRAY for missionaries, especially our Lakeside Mission Partners, and to find tangible ways to express our love and support.

LINKS OF HOPE

Links of hope is an ongoing ministry of support, resources and encouragement to new foster and adoptive families. We help sponsor the annual "match" event in the fall

BACKPACK MINISTRIES (ESL)

Backpack Ministries is an opportunity to feed the 3-6 year-olds at Emma Roberson School. Each Friday the food bags we fill twice a month are put in the kids backpacks to bring home for food on the weekends. We have several volunteers who serve once or twice a month to make these kids smile. The food is provided to Lakeside by the Tarant Area food Bank. It's a great opportunity to serve and help these kids fill their tummies. God blesses them and us over and over.

For information on any of these volunteer opportunities email valtstaetter@lakesidebc.org

COMMUNITY KITCHEN

Community Kitchen is not your ordinary soup kitchen, we provide a quality family style nutritional meal with genuine hospitality.  We usually have musical talent or a speaker giving their testimony or a devotional.  How can you help? We need individuals and families for cooks, dessert chefs, table host, servers, clean-up crews, and entertainment.  Second Saturday of every month.  Dinner starts at 5

PRAYERS AND SQUARES

Prayers & Squares is a quilting ministry where prayer quilts are made to be given to those who need extra prayers due to illness, recovery from a difficult surgery, grieving the loss of a loved one, or other life-altering events. They meet every 2nd and 4th Mondays, September thru May. Look for us on Facebook

WEATHERFORD COLLEGE BSM LUNCHBUNCH

Covid paused our Baptist Student Ministry Lunch Bunch at Weatherford College during 2020. However, Tarletan Baptist Student Minstries made a strong return during the 2021 Spring Semester and invited Lakeside’s participation. We served bagged contactless lunches three times with increased student and faculty participation each time. We look forward to the fall semester with more in person classes and a larger student body.

ESL

LBC"s ESL ministry partners with Cristo Roca Viva Inglesia to serve our community by providing faith-based ESL classes to adults in the area who have limited English proficiency.  It is an outreach to those who are seeking to grow in their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and is unique in that we use a faith-based curriculum. Our mission is to serve these learners, to love them, and to lead them to Christ.
