FAQs about the Lakeside Baptist Church Library
1. We have a library??? Where? The library is located behind the information desk adjacent to the sanctuary.
2. What if I need to return a book and the library is closed? There is a drop box outside the library door for returning items when the library is closed.
3. I don’t have a church library card; may I check out a book? Of course! The library is automated so if you are a church member or attend regularly, you are in the database. If you are not in the database, it takes only a moment to add your name. You won’t need a card.
4. Are all of your books and materials donated? While the library gratefully accepts donated books and other materials, a budget allows the purchase of new releases to provide you with the latest Christian fiction and nonfiction materials available.
5. Do you have audio books? YES. Choices include both fiction and nonfiction. Some are on CD; older ones are on cassette.
6. What do you have besides books and audio books? DVDs, videos, and music CDs for all ages.
7. Do you have materials for children? A children’s section offers picture books, easy readers, chapter books, nonfiction books, DVDs and videos. New titles are frequently added. The Lakeside Baptist Academy students in the lower grades regularly use the library.
8. Do many people actually use the library? Currently between 500-700 items are circulated monthly.
9. Who operates the library? The library team consists of dedicated volunteers headed up by an experienced librarian. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, just stop by the library circulation desk and ask about opportunities to help in this ministry.
